My students are reading two to three grade levels below standard. They also have varying learning disabilities, so being able to visually and orally present their interpretation of a novel is huge. We have been studying growth mindset, and they have voiced the desire to make music and videos based off the books we're reading. In this way, showing what they've learned in multiple perspectives is inspiring. Currently, the computers at our disposal are not equipped with the software and/or apps to perform these tasks. The Apple computer will be for projects that will allow me to present lesson and opportunities that create higher level learning and thinking.
