This project will update and expand titles available to our teachers for their classroom book discussion groups (book clubs). Eighty percent of our current list of titles is over twenty years old, and lack student appeal. We wholeheartedly believe that great literature is one of the most important pieces of a child’s education. Our mission as teachers is to help our students become who they’re going to be. We want the messages in the literature our students read and discuss to be full of wonder, creativity, kindness, strength, and diversity.We have created a book list that can change the way our students think so they can change the world. "We want them to realize that reading should involve disrupting their thinking, changing their understandings of the world and themselves." *Disruptive Thinking by Kylene Beers and Robert E. Probst Thank you for bringing great literature to our next generation.
