These new basketballs are lighter and easier to handle. My students have a hard time handling the heavy rubber balls which makes shooting and pass extremely difficult especially for 3rd and 4th graders and below. Additionally, the balls we have now are starting to split since the rubber is so old. We lose about a ball day and at this rate we wont have enough balls for any activity. Twenty balls are needed because students routinely partner up to practice specific skills and given that my classes are 80+ at a time I need a vast amount of balls to conduct a lesson.
