My students are apart of a generation where the world is at their fingertips. They could learn how to put a computer together on the internet. They find comedic relief in gifs, YouTube influencers, and dance crazes. Their brains are constantly being stimulated. I aspire to connect my students to books that develop their interest the way scrolling on Instagram opens their world. Young readers need to learn that books are one of the best place for learning to take place. The library in my classroom is a place for students to explore, engage, and grow. The addition of new seating and new books will be so encouraging to my students. I know they will treat the library with respect. These materials will be used to facilitate group novel studies and will cultivate rich discussion that will have them to take ownership of their learning.
