For ALL of my students, pictures are their only means of communication. The pictures become THEIR VOICE. By exchanging a picture, my students can tell their teachers (and parents) that they want chips not cookies. That they need to go to the bathroom. That they want to work for the train not Legos. Since the pictures are used multiple times a day, they MUST be laminated to be durable! If not, they become dirty, ripped and unusable by the end of the day. With your contribution, my students will have a voice and NEVER be at a loss for words. My students need a laminator, lamination sheets, Educational portable flannel board, and bright, noisy and interesting activities like puzzles and puppets to help meet their individualized communication needs. Their pictures, their words, their voice will ALWAYS be accessible to them. Helping a child communicate is one of the BEST gifts you can give!
