We are planning to make a school-based newscast created primarily by students. This newscast will post on our campus Facebook. Students participating will give input on stories that we should report, and they will be writing the stories. Students will also go around the campus and in some cases around the community in order to collect video on those stories. Through this project, students will expand their classroom skills by practicing writing as well as their social skills.They will also have the opportunity to interview people as part of the news story. For this, they must prepare by creating a list of questions that pertain to the story. Another area to which they will be exposed is advertising. Students will also learn how to create a commercial by using their persuasive skills.
