We have a tremendous group of students at our school. Our town, community and school is a very special place. The one factor that stands out above all others about our community and students is the way that they continue to meet challenges head-on and rise above otherwise difficult circumstances. Many of our students come from challenging economic conditions and my school lacks in both resources and opportunities. The school continues to try to stand in this gap and meet the needs of our kids. Giving the kids an opportunity to run their own small business in this environment will provide them with invaluable business experience and instruction. But just as importantly, it will give them an opportunity to experience "wins" and be part of a team that casts a vision for something that doesn't yet exist, develops a plan to build it and then works hard to bring it to fruition. That's certainly an experience that will pay huge dividends.

About my class
