The books that I'm choosing to add to our classroom library come recommended by author and teacher, Pernille Ripp. Her reading blog contains lists of books that her middle school students recommend for others to read. They cover all genres. They are books that have the ability to hook students into becoming lifelong readers. My reading classes begin each day with a "Book Talk." I choose a book that is popular with middle school students and hopefully one that is in my current library. I tell the students about the book and let them know it is available for them to take and read! There are books being passed around among students that never find their way back to the shelf!
