First you learn to read...then you read to learn! We use students' interests to motivate independent reading. We have chosen books that our students are highly motivated to read. Our students are desperate to read books such as Dork Diaries and Elephant and Piggie. Help us to contribute to their love of reading! Many children do not have books in their homes. Without the materials to read they are unable to practice the skills to become fluent readers. Children need an opportunity to read authentic text, which requires them to have real books in their hands. Our students are excited when they find that special book to take home! We want to put more books in their hands.
