Our students are mostly disadvantaged students from housing projects in Queens, NY. Many of them are from immigrant families and have limited English skills, and many more have subtle learning disabilities. As a result, they have learned that others will do everything for them because it's easier than explaining and teaching them how to do things for themselves. I am the type of person who will not give them the answers or the easy way out. I want them to learn how to find information on their own.
