This changing table will help our students to be safe and have a better transitioning at becoming independent at toileting skills. Being proficient at going to the restroom is a basic self help skill that allows school routines to be accomplished with less complications and anxiety for the children. Once they become more proficient at attending their personal needs then we (teachers) take the opportunity to praise them and make them feel empowered about taking care of themselves, and little by little to become more independent. Besides helping children support them at school with more appropriate equipment, it is of great help as well for teachers to be able to have equipment that is more ergonomic and puts less pressure on the assistants' and teachers' physical body when work is required.
