As this school year progresses, we will soon be working on our own poems. We will dive into the works of some of the greatest poets such as: Nikki Giovanni, Gwendolyn Brooks, Robert Frost, Emily Dickinson, and many more. As we learn different poetry styles, students will have the opportunity to choose a poetry style which they will use to let their own voices and stories be heard. Using the materials that we hopefully receive from an amazingly charitable donor, we will be creating our own poetry anthologies in which students will create a series of poems about anything and everything they can think of. Whether real or imagined, dreary or fantastical events, the students will put together poetry books to share with each other, the school, and their parents.
