I have such a joy for reading and truly try to express that enthusiasm to my students in hopes that they will, in turn, love reading. In most schools, all of the subjects we teach are divided into different parts of the day, but that's not how it works in the real world. It's up to us as teachers to find ways to make connections across the subject areas and this project is how I plan to do that. It's also up to us to come up with fun and interesting ways to portray information we want our students to learn. With these books in my project, I can portray information about math and science to my students in a different way. Last year, many of my students really struggled with fractions so I think if I can make more connections using books they will have an easier time with it. I can’t wait to see their excitement and enthusiasm when we start to read these books and do projects to go along with them!
