After reviewing our data, we have discovered that our students are lacking math fact fluency. This has been a struggle for the last few years and we are trying to find a way to solve this problem! Our district does not have an intervention curriculum for math. As teachers, we are expected to find our own materials and figure out how to make it all work. This would be a lot easier if we had some guidelines. A lack of fact fluency in the primary grades leads to struggling mathematicians in the intermediate grades and beyond. We want to put an end to this cycle and try to find the best way to help and support our students. Having this math fluency kit would give us some tools that we need to successfully prepare our students for their mathematical future. It will help grow their foundational skills, build their confidence, and make them feel good about themselves as scholars.
