Seating and classroom arrangement plays a key role in how engaged and focused a child is in the classroom. This is especially true for students with sensory issues or other special needs. Our classroom is a 90 minute block of English Language Arts. To sit for 90 minutes straight is difficult for any individual, let alone a student with ADHD. Movement is imperative. Students NEED movement to be successful. Movement while not distracting others in the classroom is a challenge, but alternative seating helps to fix that problem! In addition, it helps to burn off restless energy, helps with student BMI, and overall health.
