I work with students with autism. Some of our students within the class are highly sensitive to sounds. Sounds such as pushing in their chairs and/or moving their desk can cause these students discomfort. Students are not able to use both hands when pushing in their chair when moving centers, pushing in their chair, or moving their desk to do group work because they are covering their ears, as to not hear the sound. My goal is for these desk socks to reduce/eliminate the sounds within the classroom when the students get out of their chair and/or push their desk. With the sound reduced and/or eliminated students will be able to use their hands to do these everyday task, since they will not be covering their ears.
