It is important for students to have choices in their learning and their seating! We know that students learn better and are more motivated to learn when they have these options. . We have a strong emphasis on small group and personalized learning at our school, and the students are involved in daily literacy and math workshops (or station activities). My students love being able to choose seating options as they work independently in the classroom. I have selected four different types of seating: comfy floor seats, active learning stools, exercise balls, and wiggle cushions. By providing different forms of seating, my students are able to move and focus on learning at the same time. Students will become familiar with each type of seating, and they will have the freedom to choose the best option for their learning. I can't wait to see their excitement and engagement increase with our new seating options!
