I teach at an urban public school with a highly diverse student body. The students come from a variety of countries and backgrounds and speak many different languages. Most of my children have experienced adversity in their lives that they continually strive to overcome. 98% live below the poverty level and more than 50% of my students speak English as a second language. Yet despite these disadvantages, my students are enthusiastic and hardworking, always willing to give their best. My hope is to continually provide varied and engaging learning opportunities in my classroom to meet the unique learning needs of each individual student. It's always such as a joy to see each student beam with pride as they master new challenges!
