As a special education teacher, I know the importance of having information at your fingertips. My students are very creative beings who deserve the opportunity to explore, through the proper resources, all the information that is available to them. With their independence level being incredibly high, my students will be able to navigate a tablet to search the web, participate in instruction and communicate with their classmates. My students are also artistically inclined. As an educator, my job is to find ways for multiple means of expression. Whiteboards and tablets provide an alternative to the traditional pen and pencil. This encourages student participation and the flexibility of self-expression.
