Pickleball is a fast-paced paddle game that can be played both indoors and outdoors by all ages and is very similar to tennis and table tennis. This game has been around for a long time, but has recently gained interest among young crowds and is gaining in popularity all across the country...the Pickleball U.S. Open Championship was even televised this year! Adding this short implement game to our PE curriculum will allow TC students to meet the Oklahoma physical education standards and give them a fun and exciting skill that will last a lifetime! Pickleball is a game that students will enjoy and can be fun and entertaining! Students will learn that Pickleball is a game that they can play as they grow older, as most YMCAs and local fitness complexes have started to create leagues and tournaments. These Pickleball sets will develop and improve TC students' personal fitness and motor skills by providing developmentally appropriate activities through this purposeful, creative and enjoyable game, encouraging an active lifestyle and a lifetime of fitness.
