These titles will provide a classroom library for the students in my classes as well as the team. They will use the books in literature circles in class as well as for independent reading at home. Additionally, the books will be used during literacy time on Thursdays. The more students read, the more they increase their comprehension; thus, equipping them to pass the state assessments and feel success as a student. Additionally, the titles in my shopping cart are not only engaging but represent the demographics of my students. Lastly, the topic of the titles promotes a study of social issues and awareness.
