I teach a second grade class in a Title One School, Jesse D. Scott Elementary School. Our children are living in poverty and many do not have the luxury of computers at home. The population is multicultural. We have a high population of African American and Hispanic children. We have some Caucasian and Asian students. Our classroom is highly diverse, but sensitive to each other. We incorporate Dr. Martin Luther King's guidance in retards to judging a person by the character and not their skin color. We are kind to one another and try and learn from each other. Our classroom is very structured and organized to allow for freedom of receiving an education in order to succeed in our academic achievements. The children learn through direct experience a love for learning. Our classroom is strong with understanding and compassion.
