The TI-84 graphing calculators are nice, but they are NOT a calculator that students can afford or and are not real world ready. The TI-30XS MultiView calculators I am requesting are affordable and real-world ready. Help me help my students learn to use these affordable and powerful calculators. In my class, students learn how to use their cell phone calculators along with internet graphing calculator sites like Desmos but cell phones are not allowed on ACT and SAT tests. When a student leaves high school they lack the knowledge base of being able to use the powerful $20 calculator that the TI-30XS MultiView Calculator offers. Every one of my students can afford a TI-30XS; so they learn how to use the TI-30XS in high school and are able to buy one in the future for College or their career. The TI-30XS is also accepted on the ACT and SAT tests. Giving low-income students access to new technology is an investment in their future. Let us not spend time learning how to use the $120 unaffordable TI-84 when they can learn a more realistic and affordable combination of TI-30XS and Desmo. Students will be ready for the future; and will be able to afford it.
