Many of my students have limited safe areas to experience outdoor play at home. They live in apartments and neighborhoods close to busy inner city streets. They spend more time focusing on indoor activities and are missing some crucial development opportunities. The wheelies will give them opportunities to develop balance and strength needed for coordination and general body control. The playground balls will give them opportunities to develop hand-eye coordination that will carry over into the classroom manipulative lessons that we do. The chalk will help them develop proper arm movements for writing.
