Each and every day students are distracted by the light and buzzing of cell phones. When they get a text, the temptation to look at it is so strong. I am constantly telling them to turn them off or put them away. I feel that by removing the distraction, learning will increase immensely. I would like to Velcro clear boxes on each desk for students to put their phones in at the beginning of class. I chose clear boxes so students could be assured their phone was safe and still on their desk, but far enough away that they can't just look at it without opening the box.
