Ella Fitzgerald said, "The only thing better than singing is more singing." I could not agree more. Our new principal is a strong proponent of the arts. One of the first changes she made for our school was to add more arts. We have a new drama club and a choir elective. I am fortunate enough to teach the three choir course electives. Students choose to take my class. How lucky am I to teach a class that junior high students look forward to? Breaking into song allows your heart to soar with happiness and/or release the deepest of pain with a whoosh of breath. I want to cover all genres of music and develop a love of singing. Singing has saved me on many occasions. Sometimes words and emotions just cannot be expressed adequately in conversation. To have my students experience the masters, I need a good speaker for my classroom. Because I share my choir room with the band, I need something mobile. This will allow me to move the speaker into a closet or other location as needed. I am requesting a bluetooth speaker so that my options for procurement of music will be limitless. With a bluetooth speaker, I can connect to my personal music collection as well as music from YouTube and other online resources. Help me make our new choir the best choir it can be. I cannot wait to help these students find their inner voice and star.
