My 4th grade students come from many cultural, language, and socioeconomic backgrounds. They engage more openly and eagerly with abstract concepts if they have experiences that bridge their world to the language of learning and to the big questions that help them generalize their experiences. I can see that they want to learn. I am looking for ways to help this class, with its wide range of ability in number sense, be mathematical thinkers.

About my class
