These storybooks will provide a structure for my students to learn new language concepts while keeping them engaged and participating throughout the story and related extention activities. Rich concept exposure, repetition and pictures will help my students learn vocabulary about new topics. Books may take them places they have never been or share experiences they've never had. Instruction through stories will help them develop skills they can carryover to other activities and bring back to their classrooms and home-learning activities. Use of storybooks in Speech/Language therapy will help address a wide range of goals such as articulation, semantics, comprehension, syntax, narration and pragmatic skills. Storybooks allow us to cover many targets within the same session.
