Over 140 students at our small, rural high school are taking science classes in Physics, Biology, Earth Science, and soon to be Chemistry. In order to inspire students in the field of STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Art and Mathematics), I would like to pioneer the use of 3-D printing technology in the science classroom. I plan to purchase a 3D printer which are lower cost, educational size 3-D printers. The manufacturers of these printers support education with access to millions of free downloadable files for printing. I believe this modern technology will enhance student learning as it will allow students to design and build 3-D models for cellular biology, genetic replication, molecules and machines.
