During distance learning I was made aware of the environments our students were learning in at home. When they would unmute, I could hear loud conversations, babies crying, and the constant beep of smoke detectors. This made me realize our students really need an environment they can escape too that is free of distractions, noises, and the everyday chaos of their lives. I want them to feel invited to the library to meditate, relax, and escape into a book. I'm not only wanting this project to create this enviroment, but I'm also wanting to add additional books to my library that all studnets can identify with. Our students have faced so many more emotions and realities of life, and they need help learning how to deal with these new challenges and reading a book knowing someone else is going through it too, helps them grow, learn, and know they aren't alone.
