My school has started an initiative to get balanced literacy into the classrooms. Part of this initiative is to provide access to books within the classroom for students to read independently. I have a diverse group of student learners in my classroom, and the interests of my students are ever-changing. My current classroom library doesn't have a large collection of books, so I would like to add high-interest books that will hold their interests and keep them reading in my classroom. My students enjoy reading fantasy, drama, as well as action and adventure books. The overall goal is to get kids engaged and interested in reading books that suit not only their interest, but their overall reading needs.
