Currently, we have very limited supplies for spelling and vocabulary improvement. Students often rainbow write their words in their journals but have no way to creatively practice their words outside of writing them down. These manipulatives will allow students to practice in a variety of ways, keeping learning fun and exciting while engaging them during our center time. The letter stampers will be a fun way to practice spelling words while students can work in pairs to spell vocabulary words with the magnetic letters on our easel. The Lakeshore word building blocks will be used to compare words with different sounds on the same block or allow the kids to create words for their partner to read. Giving my students these options for making words keeps centers from becoming mundane and allows their creative side to come out while better retaining the knowledge and being better prepared for weekly spelling tests.
