I would love to be able to offer my students stability balls, floor cushions, and stools as different seating options in our classroom. It is important to teach second graders that they are responsible for their learning and flexible seating allows for choice, in which they are responsible for choosing a seat in the classroom that will help them do their best and focus. Flexible seating also tends to increase motivation and engagement in students, which in turn will help my students be successful in their learning. As a teacher, I strive to reach their needs each and every day and always teach them with best practice. I truly believe that changing my classroom to a flexible seating classroom is one of the best ways to reach my students needs and to serve them in the best way possible.
