I have a unique classroom. I serve students from age 3 to age 22. My students excel despite challenges with attention, strength, muscle control, learning disabilities, sensory processing motor skills, mental health disorders and more. My classroom is unique because it has no walls. I am an occupational therapist that supports students across the district. My job is to solve problems and remove barriers so that students can be successful. On a typical day my lessons consist of leading yoga groups to teach self regulation, adapting crayons for a preschool student with cerebral palsy, creating paper styles for a student with low vision and explaining why a student may be crying and covering her ears. Though my classroom isn't technically a classroom, I touch the lives and learning of close to 100 students per week! I am constantly seeking resources and supplies to support the students and the teachers that I serve.
