This project will put more books into students hands. It will offer more opportunities for reading along with increasing literacy scores and comprehension. With Common Core the object is rigor in reading. Students must be able to close read, answer major comprehension questions and dive into main idea, compare and contrast ideas as well as author's purpose. My students are charged with summarizing, using context clues and making inferences. I want my students by the end of the school year to leave me having a love for reading and enjoy a good book! Taken from Benjamin Franklin : " Tell me and I'll forget. Teach me and I'll remember. Involve me, and I learn."
