I am hoping to be able to meet the sensory needs of my students and be able to provide more opportunities for hands on learning. Many of my students have difficulty focusing. It is my goal to maintain clear behavioral and academic expectations. These materials will help meet the sensory needs of my students so they are better able to engage in meaningful learning. Providing wiggle seats will allow for improved posture, core strengthening, and hopefully improved ability to focus. The use of sensory tools such as the kinetic sand and other items in the sensory kit, will also support improved student focus. The number bean bags and other hands on materials will increase student engagement in learning. If students are more focused and engaged, they will be better able to access their academic programs and hopefully I will be able to teach more effectively.
