Technology is being used in the 21st Century to enhance the learning in classrooms. This generation of students have grown up on technology and understand it. I have taken several classes on how to integrate technology in my lesson plans and have been able to apply my knowledge to my first grade students. Students are more engaged during my lessons by using technology, and their excitement and understanding of learning has increased. Headphones will allow my students to use programs that will provide individualized learning opportunities. These programs will increase their self-esteem as they continue challenging themselves at their own pace. Students currently have a hard time using these programs, because it is difficult to hear against the noise of the other iPads. Headphones will increase the effectiveness of technology in my classroom and help students succeed at school.
