The fantastic fourth graders of Lynbrook Elementary School need your help funding our spring field study to Williamsburg, Virginia. All year long we will be studying the history of Virginia with a main portion of the curriculum pertaining to colonial Virginia. A trip to Williamsburg would offer a great opportunity for our students to interact with a living museum that explains in detail life during colonial times. We also have the unique opportunity to bring elementary school students onto a college campus, The College of William and Mary, and foster their curiosity for higher education through a tour of the campus and a discussion session with college students there. Our students are yearning for experiential learning that will provide them with a personal connection to American history and a foundation for their paths to college. These first-hand experiences would build our students’ background knowledge of colonial times and make learning more meaningful. Please help us change our students lives!
