The Nearpod Platinum subscription I am requesting is for a phenomenal student engagement platform that allows for endless engagement and collaborating in a digital learning format. During covid-19 distance learning, I realized the one thing students were missing above anything else was interaction and collaboration. With features such as interactive controlled lessons, live student responses, and customizable and ready to teach lessons, I will have tools to bring that back into the classroom, even if students are not face-to-face.The donation of this a Platinum subscription to Nearpod will help me guide students to create, think critically, and collaborate in both a distance and blended education setting.The donation of this Platinum subscription allows me the ability to assign Student-Paced lessons. If students do not have access to technology during a live session, they would be able to participate in the student-paced version. Along with this crucial feature, the Platinum subscription also allows for multiple active sessions, which would allow for me to run a lesson for each class period instead of all 240 students together. I could also assign activities in small groups allowing for modification, differentiation, and more personalized interaction and collaboration. Also included in the ability to print lessons as a PDF for students without access to the digital content. By converting my Nearpod lessons to a PDF, I can provide specific students with a paper copy allowing them to participate in the lesson, even with limited or no access to technology at home.Last, there are social emotional learning lessons available with the Platinum subscription. With the events of the last few months, I can use the ready to teach SEL lessons and activities to support my students' mental health while they develop self-awareness, self-management, responsible decision-making, relationship skills, and social awareness.
