Actually seeing their hard work come to life will be a powerful experience for my students. So often they work in a "bubble" and don't get to see their efforts till the end of the year when the entire yearbook is delivered. Printing processes are a vital part of any graphic designers job and one most student designers don't get to see often. This trip will help motivate my students and give them a more practical and real-world view of what they do every day and add to their knowledge base. These students are very excited at the idea of touring the printing plant and experiencing the pre-press procedures. Many of these students have been in yearbook or graphic design with me for three years and are extremely committed to their art and work.
