These are great materials that help to keep my students engaged in relevant literature. It is essential for our students to be interested in what they are reading about. This literature is also ideal because it is written for the grade level that my students are at, even though most of them are in 8th grade. I like the scholastic magazines because they have stories but they also have assessments. They are good for students to work on independently or in a group setting. Students will be more interested in practicing their reading skills if they are given something to read that relates to their lives and what they care about.
