Although students are eager to read great writing so they can become great writers, they need model text to do so. With varying interests in the class students would benefit from a more expansive classroom library that covers science topics. Books rich in content help build their language skills. As research shows readers who interact with text are better able to understand text being read and retain information within text. I hope that with these additional titles in our library we can begin to integrate more science into our literacy time. Engaging science titles will be our vehicle to literacy and language.

About my class
