My Spanish speaking students absolutely love to read; however, they have read the Spanish section of my classroom library, and they have very few Spanish books left to read in our school library. I want to foster their love for reading in both English and Spanish. They are so excited to read books that are at their level in their language that look similar to the books that their peers are reading. They are daily asking for more Captain Underpants books and Diary of a Wimpy Kid books that they can read during their independent reading time in my class as well as their independent reading time in their ELA classrooms.
