My students are 3-5 years old with multiple health, learning, and speech issues. Our school area is a low economic area and some of my students have little to no opportunities to explore items to stimulate their tactile explorations. They need as much input at school as possible. Some of my students also struggle with hygiene issues. We are currently working on sharing in our SEL class, art is a great way to share materials . My students being autistic and one student being blind have a challenging time with touching, feeling and using materials they are not familiar with. The sensory input with these materials will expand and broaden their world.
