My students have severe disabilities which greatly impact their motor, communication, and cognitive abilities. I need Big Mack switches and the iTalk 2 to help give my students simple communication skills. These switches give my student's access to basic communication needs such as responding yes or no to questions and greeting others. Whether students have physical impairments or cognitive disabilities, assistive technology can help them have a certain amount of control over the environment. These switches will allow my students to communicate more effectively within the classroom in a nonverbal manner. The Big Mack switches and the iTalk 2 will allow our students to interact with assistive technology, as well as communicate with the world. This technology will also help them to communicate their wants and needs, and assist them in the learning process.
