I work in a district where the lower elementary school is not a priority; therefore, teachers have to work harder with less. I am one of the very few teachers in my building that has very limited technology in the classroom as compared to other teachers in the classrooms. It is hard to have an effective technology station with very little technology although a technology station is required because of the computer programs our school has implemented.
Because I teach the "Technology Generation" and everything is just a click away, I would be doing an injustice to my students not providing technology for them to utilize each day.
My lower achieving students will receive remediation from abcmouse.com and spellingcity.com while my higher achieving students will receive challenging assignments from i-ready and superkids. This allows me to meet the needs of all my students. Also, my students will learn how to type words, sentences, and short stories.
Everything is just a click away except in my classroom where I am required to have a technology station. Students rotate through 5 or 6 stations daily to complete assignments. It is impossible for all my students to rotate to the technology station each day. With your help, Chromebooks would help students to be able to rotate through the technology station allowing all students reaching their highest learning potential! Each student will be able to have his or her own individualized instruction with your help. Please help fund this project because Webster's Computer Savvy Students need your help!
