I teach a group of students with incredibly diverse needs that span several grades. I work in special education because the students I serve are so incredible to work with. We work on vocabulary, reading comprehension, speech production, and so much more. My students struggle in their regular classrooms. It's my job to help them succeed in my specialized room and then carry the skills learned with them into their classes and daily lives. Don't think that because we're playing a game that incredible learning is not taking place! So many things can be learned within the context of game play. We learn turn taking, cooperation, conversation skills, sequencing, learning to wait, how to be a gracious winner and loser of a game and so much more! The games and activities I'm hoping to get funded will keep my students engaged and interested in learning.
