So many students in my class struggle from the mundane task of calculating without a calculator. In the grand scheme if we were able to acquire calculators this would cut down on time in class students spend finding values. Also students who have problems accessing content can be better served with the aid of a calculator. Students need to focus on the conceptual aspects of geometry, and not so much on multiplication facts and square root. We currently have about 5 calculators in the classroom right now. We are hoping to get a more uniform, classroom set of calculators. The price is a little less than $13.00 for each calculator and the thought is that all students will have more access to geometry material, and that the calculators will be useful to future classes.
