I want my students to be comfortable in the classroom. It is difficult for them to focus sitting in a chair. They just can not sit still in a regular chair for long. If they have choice in their seating, they will take more ownership of their learning. The lap desks are great for students that like to sit on the floor and need to be away from other students to focus and get work done. Seat cushions are used for students to just choose a spot to sit and read comfortably on the floor. The wobble chairs will help students that are not able to sit still. They will balance and work their core, while using some of their energy. Tablets in the classroom are a fun way for students to practice much needed skills. Students get excited when they have a chance to use technology in the classroom. I would like to use one of the tablets for Dojo points. We use Class Dojo in the classroom and they can earn or lose points based on behavior. I am trying to teach students to be responsible and take more ownership in the classroom. One of the tablets will be used by the students to give or take away Dojo points when necessary. I think it will be more powerful if the students are in charge of giving or taking away points when appropriate.
