These materials will help my students have a guided reading resource to use with novels we already have in our library and the timer will reinforce that reading is an important skill that they must have in life. This project will help my student engage in the literature and reinforce that they do not have all the time in the world to complete assignments. They need to understand that there are deadlines for completing projects and activities. This timer is big enough for everyone to see and hear in the classroom no matter their location. Time to Read is a way to promote AR and classroom reading to my students. The literature resources will allow my students to actively engage with the text by answering text dependent questions, completing graphic organizers, and character analysis which help them better comprehend and understand their purpose for reading the text.
